Although the exact year of composition of this work is not stated, it is believed to have been written between 1798 and 1799, and Beethoven was a young work around the age of 28. The sheet music was published in Vienna in 1799 and sold well, gaining fame not only as an up-and-coming pianist but also as a composer. The title "Sorrow" has already appeared on the cover of the first edition, and although it is not clear whether this was the idea of Beethoven himself, it was attached with the consent of the composer himself. It is thought to be. Unlike the title, Adagio Cantabile's tune in the 2nd movement makes the calm nobility feel "hope" and is loved by many Beethoven fans. Also, the progression of chords is modern and often arranged and played in pop and jazz.
In the arrangement of Lento & Vivace, the tempo of the latter half is lightened and the song is bright, so I would like you to play it with excitement.
* The accompaniment of the original song is originally in A flat major, but it is easy to play and transposed to B flat major.

Playing time is about 4 minutes and 55 seconds
