This is a work by Brahms, a 46-year-old, 1879 representative composer of the German Romantics, also known as the "Three Great Bs" in German music.
This work is dedicated to Elisabeth von Stockhausen, who is said to have been the most forgiving of Brahms. Elizabeth, a former disciple of Brahms and a composer herself, married the composer and conductor Heinrich von Herzogenberg, who had a close relationship with Brahms. In part, the couple supported him as Brahms' greatest composer. Elisabeth was initially impressed by the Violin Sonata No. 1 and wanted to dedicate it, but Brahms instead composed and dedicated Two Rhapsodies. It is widely known among Brahms' piano works and is often featured in concerts. Rhapsody is translated as a rhapsody, but in reality it seems that epic, heroic, or patriotic fantasy songs are often titled Rhapsody.
The second "Rhapsodies" delivered this time is developed by constantly striking triplets, but it makes you feel the liveliness, mystery and tranquility, the vitality that springs up, and the feeling of despair and conflict. It can be said that it is a large-scale work like Brahms that expresses the inside. It is also ideal as a basic pitch practice.
* The original song is in G minor, but the accompaniment of clarinet, alto sax, tenor sax, and trumpet is transposed to F minor.
