Scott Joplin was an African-American composer in the United States, nicknamed "King of Ragtime" (King of Ragtime) for having composed a lot of "Ragtime", a musical style in piano performance. Ragtime had a cheerful but nostalgic, melancholic atmosphere that made its popularity as mass music a sure thing.
"The Entertainer" (The Entertainer) was composed by Scott Joplin in 1902 for ragtime for piano. It was later to play a part in the 1970 s ragtime revival, triggered by its use as the theme tune for the 1973 Academy Award-winning film The Sting. With a light tempo and rhythm, it is a song that is appropriate to be played while the heart is bouncing.
