Faure is a representative French composer born in 1845. Lullaby, Op. 16, is a relatively early piece composed around 1879, originally for violin and piano. Although it is a lullaby, it has a fast tempo and a very light melody, but it seems to express the love and joy of a mother for her child. The most distinctive feature of Faure's work is the beautiful melody and harmony. This is also a recommended masterpiece that you will never get tired of, no matter how many times you play or listen to it. In the Lento & Vivace arrangement, the same melody is repeated in the middle section, and the second time it is played an octave higher in the original, but this is very difficult to perform, so it has been changed to a piano solo.

*The original accompaniment is in D major, but the accompaniment has been transposed to F major for easier performance for the flute, oboe, clarinet, alto saxophone, and tenor saxophone.
