Chopin met the female writer George Sand through Franz Liszt, and the two quickly became close and began dating. The two decided to escape the bothersome gossip of Paris and enjoy a winter love getaway to the blessed climate of Mallorca, Spain, to allow Chopin, who was in poor health, to recuperate. The time when Chopin was staying in Mallorca was the time of year when the Mediterranean climate caused a lot of rain, and it is said that the long, continuous rains influenced the completion of the Prelude "Raindrops." In the middle of the piece, the music changes to a dark and intense theme that evokes anxiety and death, but then it returns to a peaceful theme that evokes raindrops dripping from a window, evoking the happy days of the couple.
* Add a prelude to the beginning. Although the original song is in the second major, it is arranged in the C major for easy playing.
