Amilcare Ponchielli is an Italian opera composer born in 1834. He received a scholarship at the age of 9 to study music at the Milan Conservatory and composed his first symphony before he was 10 years old. His early career was unfortunate, but his opera work gradually made him famous, including the contract with La Scala in Milan. At the time, it was a popular composer, but the only work that is still being performed is the opera "La Gioconda," which premiered in 1876. Among them, the famous "Toki no Odori" is a ballet song danced in the second dance room and is also used in commercials. Even if you don't know the name of Ponchielli, many of you may be familiar with the song. Since 1883, he has been a professor of composer at his alma mater, Milan Conservatory, and will produce major composers of Puccini and Mascagni as disciples.
At Lento & Vivace, not only famous themes but also the 2nd and 3rd themes are included in the arrangement, so I'm sure you will enjoy playing.
