"Adder Jet" is a song that falls on the fourth movement of Mahler's Fifth Symphony. Of the fifth symphony, which gives a feeling of heavy themes such as "The Lament of Death" and "The Triumph of Life", the fourth movement "Adderjet" portrays "The World of Love". It is also said to be a love letter to the “doomed woman” Alma, whom Mahler met and fell in love with and married. Because this song, which was not in the original conception of Symphony No. 5, was written around the time of meeting Alma, and it is thought that he wanted to insert the "movement of love" even if it greatly changed the composition of the entire symphony. The song was made famous by its use as the theme tune for the masterpiece film "Die in Venice", directed by Luchino Visconti. By nature, he arranged this masterpiece, which he performs in an orchestra, into an instrumental solo piece with piano accompaniment. Please enjoy this song, which is representative of Mahler's gentle, passionate and sometimes complex.
