Fauré is a leading French composer born in 1845. He studied composition and piano under Saint-Saens, who came as a teacher in 1861. "Siciliana" is composed in 1893 in Paris with the theme of Maeterlinck's play "Pelléas and Mélisande" and is performed in the second act. Of these, it was arranged as an orchestra suite of five songs and is still performed at many concerts. Debussy, who was active in the same age, treated Foret critically,Inspired by Fauré's "Pelléas et Melisand", it is also interesting that Debussy later composed an opera of the same name on the same subject.
The lyrical phrase is a typical Fauré song that will grab your heart even if you hear it once. It is famous for playing on the flute, but it is a beautiful song even if you play it on other instruments, so please try it once.
